St Colmcille’s and St Brigid’s Primary Schools as they will be called, are the outcome of a review and reorganisation of Catholic primary education provision within Ballymena.

The new schools will provide pupils and staff with 21st century accommodation to create the best possible teaching and learning environment. They will also feature on site playground and sporting areas.

Speaking in advance of their openings, Mr Brendan McKenna, the new principal of St Colmcille’s Primary Schools said;

His sentiments are echoed by the newprincipal of St Brigid’s Primary School, Mr Jim Brady who commented;

 “Schools are more than learning environments they are an integral part of the community where children are encouraged to develop at every level. The opening of our new school is recognition of the investment which our parents and staff have made in their community”.
