CCMS COMMENT ON BUS CRASH
The Council for Catholic Maintained Schools has offered its sincere condolences to the family of Nicola Murray a year 12 pupil at St Ciaran’s High School, who was killed as a result of a road traffic accident in Ballygawley.
Speaking on behalf of CCMS, Mr Jim Clarke, Deputy Chief Executive said;
This morning’s road traffic accident which involved pupils from two Catholic Maintained Schools (St Ciaran’s High School and St Mary’s Primary School) has deeply shocked the Council.
Our sense of shock has been compounded by the tragic news of the death of Nicola Murray and the severity of the injuries to many other pupils.
The death of any young person is hard for anyone to fully comprehend but it is even more difficult when that person is known to you as a friend or family member.
This is undoubtedly a difficult time for both schools and the families of the pupils. For our part CCMS officers will continue to work with our colleagues from the SELB to offer support to both schools their staff and pupils.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the schools and the families of the school children who were injured and the Murray family in particular during this most difficult of times.
