Scotland's 'Inspiring Teachers' recruitment campaign

CCMS is helping to promote, in Northern Ireland, the Scottish Government’s Inspiring Teachers, teacher recruitment campaign.

Ms Constance, Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning launched the “Inspiring Teachers” campaign in September 2015.

The Teach in Scotland website at www.teachinscotland.org provides people with all the information that they need about a teaching career in Scotland and more information on the Inspiring Teachers campaign.

Teaching vacancies in all of Scotland’s local authorities are advertised on  www.myjobscotland.gov.uk .

All teachers in public sector schools in Scotland must hold a teaching qualification and be registered with the General Teaching Council of Scotland (GTCS).  Teachers who have qualified from outside of Scotland must apply to the GTCS for registration.

The GTCS’s Qualified Outside Scotland section of their website includes all the information needed to plan for an application for registration -

http://www.gtcs.org.uk/registration/apply-for-registration/qualified-outside-of-scotland/qualified-outside-of-scotland.aspx

The GTCS are currently dealing with a large number of applications for registration from teachers qualified outside Scotland and, therefore, they advise teachers to submit their applications for registration as far ahead as possible of when they intend to start applying for posts in Scotland.
